I Have Extra Screen Space This Time: Shiva Rajkumar On 'Jailer 2'

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer 2' is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on October 15, and the sequel is promising to take the scale of the 2023 blockbuster several notches higher. One of the biggest talking points is the return of Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, whose cameo as Narasimha in 'Jailer' received a tremendous response.

Shiva Rajkumar has now revealed that his role is bigger in 'Jailer 2', with more screen time than in the first instalment. Speaking in a recent interview, the actor said he has already shot for the sequel and teased that director Nelson Dilipkumar has used his character in an interesting manner.

“I am so lucky that filmmakers are approaching me with special roles. I have extra screen space this time in 'Jailer 2', and the way the director has utilized my role will be very interesting. Working with Rajini sir is such a joy for me. I love spending time with him as he shares his experiences with me,” Shiva Rajkumar said.

The actor has also revealed that the sequel is a direct continuation of 'Jailer', making the return of Narasimha particularly intriguing. Rajinikanth reprises his popular role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, while Nelson returns as writer and director. The shooting was completed earlier this year, with Rajinikanth confirming the wrap in August.

The makers have been building anticipation through character reveals. Suraj Venjaramoodu has been introduced as Dileep, while SJ Suryah plays Bodhi and Vidya Balan has been unveiled as Kantha. Mithun Chakraborty is also part of the expanded ensemble.

The music has also become part of the promotional build-up. Anirudh Ravichander has delivered songs including 'Ala Bolelo', 'One Sun One Moon' and the recently released 'One Name'.

'Jailer 2' is produced by Sun Pictures and is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on October 15, 2026.
