‘I don’t fear Bollywood celebrities’: Dhruv Rathee breaks silence on Janhvi Kapoor row

Social media creator Dhruv Rathee has issued a strong clarification amid viral misinformation surrounding his latest video, asserting that false narratives were created without people actually watching the content. Addressing the controversy, Rathee said he does not feel intimidated by Bollywood celebrities and will continue to speak freely. “I don’t fear a Bollywood celebrity. I’ll say what I want to say, and I’ll say it straight to them ,” he stated.

Explaining the core intent of the video, Rathee stressed that one of its most important sections focused on plastic surgery and its impact on society , not on targeting any individual actor. He questioned the claims circulating online and asked viewers to verify facts themselves before believing social media commentary. “The third most interesting thing in this video is plastic surgery. What impact does it have on society? I didn’t ask Janhvi Kapoor any question. Where is the question? Where is the question in this video? What did a third person write there?” he said, urging people to watch the content carefully instead of relying on hearsay.

Rathee further clarified that Janhvi Kapoor’s presence in the thumbnail was being misinterpreted. According to him, she was included because several leading Bollywood actresses have openly and publicly admitted to undergoing cosmetic procedures. He explained that thumbnails are often misunderstood and do not define the narrative of a video. “Janhvi Kapoor is the reason the video is in the thumbnail because all the famous actresses in Bollywood have openly admitted these things,” he said.

Addressing claims that thumbnails were changed after online backlash, Rathee dismissed the allegations as misleading. He explained that every video on his channel is uploaded with multiple thumbnails as part of the platform’s normal process. “Some people are saying that after trolling, thumbnails were removed or changed. That’s not true. Every video has multiple thumbnails,” he clarified.

The controversy intensified after Orhan “Orry” Awatramani , a close friend of Janhvi Kapoor, reacted in the comments section of an Instagram video linked to the issue. Orry reportedly remarked that Janhvi Kapoor does not even know Dhruv Rathee by name, a comment that quickly went viral and added fuel to the ongoing online debate.
