
HYDRAA Keeps Watch On Dilapidated Buildings
HYDRAA has taken a key decision to prevent accidents caused by old and dilapidated buildings in the city. In a statement issued on Thursday, it sought public participation to identify structures on the verge of collapse in high-traffic areas and to take preventive measures .
Referring to the recent incident in Shivajinagar, Bengaluru, where a dilapidated compound wall collapsed due to heavy rain, killing seven people, HYDRAA urged vigilance. It noted that similar tragedies have occurred in the city in the past and warned that old buildings could collapse at any time , not only during the monsoon but also due to unseasonal rains .
HYDRAA has appealed to citizens to immediately report any unsafe or dilapidated structures in their vicinity by calling 9000113667 . People are requested to share the location of the building, its photograph, and the current location via the указан WhatsApp number. Officials assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential .
HYDRAA stated that it is already collecting details of such structures from municipal corporations and emphasised that public cooperation can help prevent loss of life . Building owners have also been advised to take necessary safety precautions .
