HYDRAA Chief Reviews Ganesh Immersion Arrangements at IDL Lake

HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Friday inspected the arrangements being made at IDL Lake in Kukatpally for the immersion of Ganesh idols, with a focus on ensuring that the process is carried out smoothly despite ongoing lake development works.

During the inspection, officials briefed Ranganath on the measures taken to facilitate the immersion of idols of different sizes. The lake has been deepened to more than 25 feet to enable the immersion of even large idols. Heavy cranes have also been positioned along the main road to facilitate the movement of thousands of idols into the lake.

Officials explained the arrangements for the immediate removal of immersed idols and other measures aimed at keeping the water body and surrounding areas manageable during the festivities. Ranganath had earlier instructed officials to make special arrangements in view of the development works at the lake.

After reviewing the preparations, the commissioner directed HYDRAA officials to work in coordination with the departments concerned and maintain continuous monitoring throughout the immersion process to ensure that devotees do not face inconvenience.

Ranganath later inspected the 100-foot road in Anjaney Nagar, particularly the stretch near Whitewater Apartments, where residents had complained about encroachments and other obstructions through Prajavani.

Residents said the road could provide convenient access to Kukatpally Road but had been affected by encroachments, limiting its use by the public. Ranganath directed officials to clear the obstructions and restore the road.

He also instructed officials to ensure that no structures or other obstructions come up beneath the high-tension power lines. The commissioner took serious note of buses being parked on the encroached portion of the road beneath the power lines and directed officials to address the issue.

He further asked officials to safeguard the park land adjoining the road and prevent any further encroachments.

HYDRAA Additional Commissioner D. Anand Kumar and ACP P. Tirumal were present during the inspection.
