HYDRA Foils Land Grab, Secures ₹700-Crore Property in Kondapur

HYDRA officials have busted a major land-mafia operation in Kondapur , one of the city’s most upscale localities. Acting against illegal encroachments on Jangamoni Kunta, located along the Serilingampally Municipal Office–Madinaguda main road, the authorities cracked down on attempts to erase the lake spread over nearly four acres.

Encroachers had allegedly filled the lake with large quantities of soil and levelled the land, illegally occupying government property valued at around ₹700-crore . The land was reportedly converted into plots and prepared for sale.

Following media reports highlighting the disappearance of Jangamoni Kunta, HYDRA, along with Revenue officials, conducted joint inspections. The inspections confirmed the encroachments, prompting immediate action to restore the lake.

HYDRA reclaimed the encroached land and began installing protective fencing around the water body as part of restoration efforts. Revenue authorities have also registered criminal cases against those involved in the illegal occupation of government land.

The operation, undertaken as part of broader efforts to protect lakes and water bodies, has triggered widespread discussion in the locality.
