A five-storey building illegally constructed on government land in the Miyapur area was demolished on Saturday by the Hyderabad District Revenue Authority (HYDRA). The action was taken after a joint inspection by HYDRA, Revenue, HMDA, and Municipal officials confirmed that the structure had encroached on government land.

According to reports, Bhanu Constructions, the owners who purchased Plot No. 126 (400 square yards) in an approved HUD(A) layout under survey numbers 337 and 338 of Ameenpur, illegally extended their construction into adjoining government land under Miyapur survey number 101. They created new plots named 126/D, 126/Part, and 126/C, encroaching approximately 473 square yards of government land, thus building a five-storey structure over a total area of 873 square yards.

Investigations revealed that Bhanu Constructions had fabricated fake LRS (Layout Regularization Scheme) documents to legitimize the construction. Officials found that even the demand draft shown as payment proof was forged. The fake papers were reportedly created back in 2014.

Following a complaint by HMDA, HYDRA officials conducted a ground-level inspection and confirmed the encroachment. Consequently, the illegal portion built over 473 square yards of government land was demolished. A case has already been registered at the Ameenpur Police Station.

Officials warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal constructions on government land.

The case also raises questions about possible negligence by local authorities. Despite Bhanu Constructions allegedly fabricating fake LRS documents in 2014, neither the Revenue nor the Municipal officials identified or acted on the encroachment for years. The construction of a five-storey building requires mandatory building permits, approved plans, and tax records — none of which were issued by the municipality. Yet, the structure was completed and even occupied, reflecting serious lapses in the oversight system.
