The Warsi Brothers , acclaimed exponents of traditional qawwali from Hyderabad, are set to begin their debut UK tour , bringing Sufi devotional music to audiences across 10 cities alongside an educational workshop series designed to introduce younger and global audiences to the genre.

Titled “Mystic Voices Tradition: In Praise of Khusrau” , the tour will open at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London , before travelling to West Bromwich, Nottingham, Leeds, Southampton, Manchester, Leicester, Bristol, Cambridge and Bradford. The programme is being presented by UK-based South Asian arts organisations SAMA and Indus Music , both known for promoting classical and cross-cultural music traditions.

The initiative places emphasis not only on live performances but also on qawwali workshops and outreach sessions , reflecting growing efforts to preserve and teach the centuries-old Sufi musical form rooted in the poetry of Amir Khusrau . The Warsi Brothers are widely regarded as torchbearers of the Delhi Gharana tradition and continue a family legacy of court musicians linked to Hyderabad’s Nizam-era heritage.

The duo, Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi, were also honoured at the Aga Khan Music Awards 2025 in London, where they were recognised for their role in preserving and transmitting the spiritual and musical heritage of qawwali to global audiences.

Recent programme listings also confirm additional UK performances in cities such as Birmingham and Leeds in April 2026, indicating that the tour forms part of a broader UK season rather than a single short visit. Organisers describe the series as both a concert experience and a cultural exchange, aiming to reconnect contemporary audiences with the devotional intensity and improvisational depth of traditional qawwali.

The tour is expected to highlight how qawwali continues to evolve on international stages while staying rooted in its spiritual and poetic traditions.
