Traffic restrictions and diversions will be enforced across several parts of Hyderabad during the Durga idol immersion festivities, as the city prepares to manage the movement of processions and vehicles. The traffic police have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, avoid affected stretches wherever possible and follow instructions issued by personnel deployed on the roads.

According to the traffic police, the restrictions will remain in force from 3 pm on October 21 to 6 am on October 24. Traffic movement will be regulated in and around People’s Plaza, Garden Point, Jalavihar Baby Ponds and Sanjeevaiah Park, depending on prevailing traffic conditions and the movement of immersion processions.

The police said traffic diversions would be implemented as required to prevent congestion and facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles during the festivities. Commuters travelling through these areas may experience delays and are advised to account for the restrictions while planning their daily journeys.

Commuters have been asked to use alternative routes to reach their destinations and avoid roads where traffic movement is affected by the immersion activities. Those travelling through the designated areas should remain alert to changing traffic conditions and follow directions provided by traffic personnel.

The restrictions are intended to ensure that the idol immersion processions proceed smoothly while minimising inconvenience to the general public. With vehicles and devotees expected to move through the designated locations, traffic regulation will be adjusted according to the situation on the ground.

The traffic police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the arrangements and avoid unnecessary travel through the affected stretches during peak procession movement. Following the diversions and instructions issued by the authorities will help reduce congestion and ensure safer movement for both commuters and participants in the festivities.

For traffic-related information and assistance, commuters can contact the Hyderabad traffic police helpline at 9010203626. The police have encouraged the public to use the helpline for relevant updates and assistance while travelling through the affected areas.
