The Drone Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival, which showcased Hyderabad as a vibrant confluence of technology, culture, and entertainment, concluded on a grand note. Held over two days, the events drew large crowds, captivating both city residents and tourists alike.

Drone Festival at Gachibowli Stadium

The night sky over Gachibowli Stadium came alive with spectacular visuals during the Drone Festival. Hundreds of drones took to the air simultaneously, mesmerizing spectators with a synchronized light and music show. Iconic symbols of Telangana such as the Ramappa Temple, Golconda Fort, Charminar, Buddhavanam, the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, the Palapitta (state bird), and the Telangana Tourism logo were artistically recreated in the sky, leaving the audience spellbound. Each visual drew thunderous applause from the crowd.

Innovative events like drone racing and drone soccer emerged as major attractions, particularly among the youth. These competitions, which tested speed, precision, and technical expertise, were conducted amid high excitement. Light shows synchronized with live music added further grandeur to the festival. MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, and TGTDC Managing Director Valluru Kranthi attended the event and contributed to its success.

Hot Air Balloon Festival Buzz

Simultaneously, the Hot Air Balloon Festival, which commenced from the Golconda Golf Club, also enthralled visitors. Eighteen international hot air balloons from various countries soared into the sky, painting the Hyderabad skyline with vibrant colors. Morning balloon rides and illuminated balloon displays set to music in the evenings attracted huge crowds. People of all ages, from children to elders, enjoyed the breathtaking sights. Cultural performances organized alongside the festival enhanced the festive atmosphere.

Grand Finale

The grand finale of these celebrations is scheduled to be held at the Parade Grounds on January 18. Through the Drone and Balloon Festivals, Telangana once again showcased its rich cultural heritage, modern technological prowess, and tourism potential to the world. Hyderabad has truly emerged as a “Smart Entertainment Capital” in recent times.
