Hyderabad is all set for the upcoming festive season, and the South Central Railway (SCR) is making special arrangements to ensure smooth and safe travel for passengers. With festivals like Dasara, Diwali, and Chhath approaching, a significant rise in passenger traffic is expected between September 19 and October 28.

To tackle this, SCR has joined hands with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), local police, traffic authorities, and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). A coordination meeting was recently held to discuss the key measures to manage crowds, prevent accidents, and ensure passenger safety at busy stations such as Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Charlapalli, Lingampalli, and Kacheguda.

Officials highlighted that crowded spots like foot overbridges, waiting halls, and circulating areas could face congestion during peak hours. To prevent any unexpected incidents, the RPF and GRP will increase patrolling, frisking, and anti-sabotage checks. Special attention will be given to restricted areas and vulnerable points to curb incidents like pickpocketing, snatching, and unauthorized entry.

Local police will work alongside railway authorities to help manage crowds, especially during rush hours. Traffic police will ensure smooth vehicle movement around stations, enforce strict no-parking rules, and monitor lanes used by cabs, autos, and buses.

Meanwhile, TGSRTC will run extra buses during busy hours and late nights. Staff will be present at bus bays to guide passengers, and some buses will be diverted to less crowded station exits to avoid congestion.

Overall, the combined efforts of railway, police, and transport authorities aim to provide a hassle-free and safe travel experience for everyone during the festive season. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys ahead, follow instructions, and cooperate with authorities to make their travel smooth and enjoyable.
