As part of the annual Police Commemoration Week, the Hyderabad Police on Monday organized a large-scale blood donation camp across the city to honor the sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The week, observed nationwide from October 21, commemorates the bravery and dedication of police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect citizens and maintain law and order. As a tribute to their courage, Hyderabad Police have called upon officers, their families, and the public to participate in the noble act of blood donation.

City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar said that blood donation is not merely a social service but a meaningful way to honor the memory of fallen police heroes. “Our martyrs gave their lives for the safety of society. The best way to respect their sacrifice is by helping save other lives,” he said.

The blood donation camps were simultaneously held at various police stations, traffic divisions, and training centers across Hyderabad. Hundreds of police officers, their families, and citizens took part in the initiative, responding enthusiastically to the police department’s call.

The blood collected from the drive will be supplied to government hospitals and emergency medical services. Officials said it will help save lives in cases of road accidents, surgeries, and maternal emergencies.

Appealing to the public, the Hyderabad Police stated, “Every drop of blood can save a life. Join us in honoring the sacrifice of our police martyrs through this act of humanity.”

The police expect to collect around 10,000 units of blood through this mega donation drive. The initiative has seen strong participation from citizens, students, and voluntary organizations, r eflecting the community’s deep respect for the selfless service of police personnel.
