YSRCP leader and former minister R.K. Roja launched a sharp attack on the Telugu Desam Party over its “ Hybrid Mahanadu ” event in Vijayawada , calling it a poorly attended programme that failed to generate public enthusiasm. Addressing the media in Nagari on Thursday, she claimed that even the digital screenings arranged across constituencies drew little response from party workers and the public.

Roja accused the ruling coalition government of trying to divert attention from its failure to fulfil election promises by focusing on political criticism instead of governance. She alleged that TDP leaders used the Mahanadu platform mainly to target YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy rather than discussing public welfare and administrative issues.

The former minister also alleged that organisers depended on entertainment programmes and mobilised DWCRA women to boost attendance at meetings. According to her, the event exposed growing dissatisfaction among people over the government’s performance.

Criticising the TDP’s stand on the Women’s Reservation Bill , Roja questioned the party’s sincerity and challenged TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu to press the Centre for its immediate approval if the party was genuinely committed to women’s empowerment.

She further accused the TDP of maintaining opportunistic ties with both the BJP and Congress for political convenience, while avoiding direct answers on governance and welfare-related concerns.
