HSBC expands in Hyderabad with state-of-the-Art branch
HSBC India has inaugurated a new branch in Hyderabad’s HITEC City, strategically relocating from its Raj Bhavan Road location. The 5,600 sq. ft. facility is designed to cater to the financial needs of the city’s affluent and globally connected clientele. Situated in the RMZ Spire building, the new branch also features retail banking spaces, back-office facilities, and a dedicated coffee lounge, providing a comprehensive suite of services, including wealth management, international account opening assistance, lending services, and ATM facilities.
HSBC operates across several key segments, including Wealth and Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, Investment Banking, Trade Finance, and Asset Management. Recently, HSBC Asset Management introduced a new Trade and Working Capital Solutions strategy, partnering with its parent company’s Global Trade Solutions division. This initiative targets institutional investors across Europe, Asia, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East, focusing on receivables and payables finance, and trade loans, leveraging the bank’s deal flow and global trade infrastructure.
In the first half of 2025, HSBC reported a profit before tax of $15.8 billion, a decrease of $5.7 billion compared to the same period in 2024. This decline was primarily due to the recognition of dilution and impairment losses of $2.1 billion related to its associate, Bank of Communications Co., Limited, and the non-recurrence of $3.6 billion in net gains from disposals in 2024.
HSBC continues to innovate globally. In September 2025, the bank demonstrated the world's first-known empirical evidence of the potential value of current quantum computers for solving real-world problems in algorithmic bond trading, in collaboration with IBM.
The new branch in HITEC City aims to serve the financial aspirations of multinational companies, global capability centers (GCCs), and internationally-minded affluent individuals. By offering personalized services and leveraging HSBC’s world-class offerings and international network, the branch seeks to contribute to the broader prosperity of India’s evolving economy.
