How Much Did Dil Raju Pay for 'Vrushakarma' Distribution Rights?
Producer and distributor Dil Raju has reportedly acquired the theatrical distribution rights for Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming mystical adventure thriller 'Vrushakarma' for Rs. 45 crore, including Rs. 40 crore as a non-refundable amount. The deal is said to be the highest distribution agreement of Chaitanya’s career.
Through his distribution banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), Dil Raju has secured the film’s theatrical rights across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. The acquisition is expected to strengthen the film’s pre-release business as anticipation builds ahead of its theatrical release.
Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, the film blends adventure, mythology, fantasy and suspense. Chaitanya reportedly plays a treasure hunter in a story involving ancient mysteries and mythical elements, although the makers have kept key plot details under wraps.
The film has also secured a significant non-theatrical deal. Zee reportedly acquired its digital streaming and satellite rights for Rs. 48 crore combined, making it one of the biggest non-theatrical deals of Chaitanya’s career. However, the amount has not been officially confirmed by the makers.
BVSN Prasad is producing the film under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, with Sukumar Writings associated with the project and Bapineedu as presenter. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead, while Sparsh Shrivastava appears as the antagonist. Jayaram and Satya have also been mentioned among the supporting cast in reports.
The technical team includes Ajaneesh B Loknath as music composer, Ragul D Herian as cinematographer, Naveen Nooli as editor and Sri Nagendra Tangala as production designer.
The production has attracted attention for its scale, including a massive artificial cave set reportedly constructed over 50 days. The team is completing the shoot and post-production work, with promotional activities expected to intensify.
Mounted on what reports describe as the biggest budget of Chaitanya’s career, 'Vrushakarma' is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 4, 2026.
