Production house Hombale Films has revealed the first look of its upcoming animated epic Mahavatar Parshuraam , the second installment in its ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. The film follows the phenomenal success of Mahavatar Narsimha , which reportedly grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide after releasing in July 2025 on a modest ₹40 crore budget.

Directed by Ashwin Kumar, Mahavatar Parshuraam reimagines the legendary tale of Lord Parshurama, one of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, known for his fierce stand against adharma. The makers have unveiled striking posters across multiple Indian languages, signaling a wide pan-India release strategy. The film is slated to hit theatres in December 2027.

The studio has promised significant upgrades in animation quality, along with a strong emphasis on family-friendly storytelling and high-octane action. With an eye on building a long-term franchise, Hombale aims to release one film every two years, eventually covering seven key avatars of Vishnu under the Mahavatar banner.

Over the years, Hombale Films has established itself as a powerhouse in Indian cinema with a string of blockbuster productions. The banner is best known for backing the hugely successful K.G.F: Chapter 1 and K.G.F: Chapter 2, starring Yash, which redefined the scale of Kannada cinema. It also produced the Pan-India hit Kantara, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, and the high-profile action drama Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire, featuring Prabhas.

With Mahavatar Parshuraam , the production house appears set to expand its creative horizons into large-scale animated storytelling, blending mythology with cutting-edge technology to appeal to audiences across age groups.
