Hockey India Unveils 31-member Senior Women’s National Coaching Camp

Hockey India on Monday named a 31-member core probable group for the Senior Women’s National Coaching Camp, scheduled from April 1 to 9, 2026 , as the team begins preparations for a packed international season.

The Indian women’s team enters the camp after a strong performance at the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers , where it clinched a silver medal and secured qualification for the upcoming FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2026 .

The short camp will focus on team combinations, fitness, and tactical refinement as the squad takes shape under new head coach Sjoerd Marijne.

India faces a busy calendar ahead, including the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup 2026 in June, followed by the World Cup in August and the 2026 Asian Games from September 19 to October 4.

The goalkeeping unit includes experienced names like Savita alongside Madhuri Kindo, Bansari Solanki, and Bichu Devi Kharibam, who recently won the Hockey India Baljit Singh Award for Goalkeeper of the Year .

The defence features seasoned players such as Nikki Pradhan and Udita, supported by Ishika Chaudhary, Jyoti Singh, Lalthantluangi, Jyoti, and Shilpi Dabas.

In midfield, captain Salima Tete leads the group, which includes Sushila Chanu, Manisha Chauhan, Vaishnavi Phalke, and Neha, along with emerging talents like Sakshi Rana, a recipient of the Hockey India Asunta Lakra Award for Upcoming Player of the Year , Sunelita Toppo, and Ishika.

The forward line is spearheaded by Player of the Year (Women) awardee Navneet Kaur, along with Deepika, Lalremsiami, Mumtaz Khan, Deepika Soreng, Rutaja Pisal, Baljeet Kaur, Annu, Beauty Dungdung, Hina Bano, Sonam, and Sangita Kumari, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

Speaking at the camp, Marijne said the focus would be on consistency, structure, and mental readiness , aiming to build a squad capable of delivering under pressure in major tournaments like the World Cup and Asian Games.
