Hindustan Zinc Limited , a subsidiary of Vedanta Group, has reported its strongest-ever financial performance for the year ended March 31, 2026, highlighting a five-year growth trajectory driven by operational efficiency , cost leadership , and strategic transformation. The company posted record revenue of ₹40,844 crore (US$ 4.6 billion), up 20% year-on-year , while net profit rose 34% to ₹13,832 crore (US$ 1.56 billion). EBITDA reached US$ 2,508 million with an industry-leading margin of 54% , reinforcing its position among the most profitable global mining companies .

Quarterly performance remained robust, with Q4 net profit rising 68% YoY to ₹5,033 crore, supported by higher metal prices , increased volumes, and improved efficiencies. The company achieved its highest-ever mined metal production of over 1.1 million tonnes , alongside strong refined output following debottlenecking of smelters in Rajasthan . Chief Executive Officer Arun Misra highlighted that refined production was delivered at a low cost of $959 per tonne , underlining strong execution despite global uncertainties.

Over the last five years, Hindustan Zinc has demonstrated resilience across commodity cycles , with revenue rising from around ₹29,000 crore in FY22 to current record levels, while profit growth consistently outpaced revenue, reflecting margin expansion and efficiency gains. A key contributor has been silver production , which accounted for nearly 45% of overall profitability , helping balance base metal volatility and strengthen earnings stability.

The company is now entering a “2.0 growth phase” , focusing on critical minerals essential for electric vehicles , renewable energy, and advanced technologies, marking a shift toward a future-ready diversified portfolio . Its sustainability credentials remain strong, with recognition under the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025 and membership in the International Council on Mining and Metals , aligning with global ESG standards.
