Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday offered prayers at the sacred Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala. The Governor arrived at the hill shrine amid tight security arrangements and was received by senior officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) , who extended traditional courtesies.

TTD officials escorted the Governor through the temple premises and facilitated his darshan of Lord Venkateswara , following the prescribed temple rituals. “Shiv Pratap Shukla had darshan of Lord Venkateswara today. He was received by TTD officials and taken for darshan,” a temple official said.

After completing the darshan, the Governor was accorded customary honours by the temple priests at the Ranganayakula Mandapam . As part of the ritual, he was presented with silk vastrams , offered theertham and prasadam , and blessed with Vedic chants , in accordance with age-old temple traditions followed for visiting dignitaries.

The visit was conducted smoothly under the supervision of TTD authorities, with arrangements made to ensure minimal inconvenience to the general devotees. Such visits by constitutional functionaries are a regular feature at the Tirumala temple, where special protocols are followed while maintaining normal darshan for pilgrims.

The Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple , situated atop the Tirumala hills, is one of the most revered pilgrimage centres in the country. Managed by TTD, the shrine is widely regarded as the richest Hindu temple in the world and attracts lakhs of devotees every day from across India and abroad.
