Heartbreaking Tragedy in Tirupati: Toddler Killed by Her Mother

A horrifying incident in Tirupati district has shocked the local community. A mother, allegedly viewing her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter as an obstacle to her personal life, is accused of killing the child with the help of her partner .

According to police, the accused, Ashalatha, had been living apart from her husband for over a year. During this time, she reportedly developed a relationship with a man named Reddy Kumar through social media, which eventually turned into cohabitation.

Authorities allege that the couple believed the young child from Ashalatha’s earlier marriage was a barrier to their relationship. Acting on this belief, they are accused of planning and executing the child’s murder .

Suspicion arose after both Ashalatha and the child went missing for two weeks. Family members repeatedly asked about the child’s whereabouts, but Ashalatha allegedly gave evasive answers. Concerned, they approached local police and filed a missing person complaint.

A detailed investigation, including phone call records and movement tracking, revealed the grim truth. When confronted with evidence, the accused reportedly admitted to the crime.

Following the confession, police proceeded to the Swarnamukhi River banks, where the child’s body was reportedly disposed of. Excavations were carried out, the remains recovered, and a panchnama was conducted. The body was sent for postmortem, and authorities are awaiting the report to determine the exact time and cause of death.

Cases have been registered under Sections 103(1) and 201 of the Indian Penal Code. Both accused are in custody and are under detailed interrogation.
