Haryana is set to launch a faceless property registration pilot in Faridabad by the end of March, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sumita Misra said on Tuesday . Faceless property registration refers to a system in which property documents are registered entirely online , without any physical visit or face-to-face interaction with officials.

The pilot, scheduled for three months in one tehsil of Faridabad, will allow citizens to register property entirely online , eliminating the need for face-to-face interaction with officials. Hosted on the Government of India’s MeitY Cloud , the system promises robust data protection , enterprise-grade security, and a comprehensive audit trail of all transactions.

Under the faceless registration process, applicants can upload property documents, complete verification digitally, and use e-signatures and Aadhaar authentication , significantly reducing human discretion and procedural delays. Dedicated nodal officers will monitor the pilot to ensure smooth execution, with citizen feedback guiding potential expansion to other districts.

The initiative is seen as a major step in technology-driven, citizen-centric governance , aimed at improving transparency, cutting delays, and enhancing public trust in property transactions.

Experts suggest that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh , with their existing digital land platforms Dharani and Webland respectively, are well-positioned to adopt similar reforms in the future. Both states already offer online registration, e-stamping , and GIS-based land record management , making them conducive to a fully faceless model.

If successful, Haryana’s pilot could serve as a model for other states, streamlining property registration, reducing the role of middlemen, and providing faster, hassle-free services to citizens.
