Haryana CM launches Gurugram clean-up drive

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a major cleanliness drive in Gurugram on Thursday, calling on everyone to work together to make the city the top-ranked clean city in the country. He emphasized that achieving this goal requires both strong administrative efforts and active participation from the public.

The 11-week campaign, named “Mera Gurugram, Swachh Gurugram”, will focus on beautifying and upgrading all urban areas in the city. The CM encouraged citizens to join hands in creating a clean and healthy environment, stressing that cleanliness is the foundation of a healthy life and should become a part of everyone’s daily routine.

Saini himself joined Swachhata Mitras in a morning cleanliness drive at Sohna Chowk and Sector 52, setting an example for others to follow. He assured that the Haryana government will fully support this initiative and work to make Gurugram a model city in cleanliness.

He also highlighted that the Swachh Bharat Mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, has inspired a nationwide movement for cleanliness. The CM reminded people that keeping the city clean is not just the government’s responsibility; it is a collective duty of every citizen. He urged residents to take part by maintaining cleanliness in their homes, streets, and neighborhoods.

Saini thanked religious and social organizations, Resident Welfare Associations, and trader bodies for actively participating in the campaign. Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma added that the drive is not a one-day or one-week effort but a continuous public movement. He promised that the campaign would continue with greater energy, enthusiasm, and proper planning in the coming days.

The key message from both leaders was clear - a cleaner Gurugram requires everyone’s effort, and every resident has a role to play in building a healthier, more beautiful city.
