Haryana has secured investment proposals worth around Rs 12,000 crore through memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed on the first day of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s Gujarat visit, with projects spanning textiles, industrial machinery, renewable energy and waste-to-energy.

According to an official statement, the proposed investments include Rs 5,000 crore in defence textiles, Rs 2,000 crore in technical textiles and Rs 500 crore in industrial machinery. Another Rs 4,000 crore has been proposed for waste-to-energy projects, while solar energy and cosmetics manufacturing account for Rs 400 crore collectively.

The sector-wise figures total Rs 11,900 crore, which the government has described as approximately Rs 12,000 crore.

Saini, accompanied by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, held meetings with company founders, managing directors and chief executive officers to discuss expanding existing operations, setting up new industrial units and exploring further investment opportunities in the state.

The chief minister said the government was working to improve the ease of doing business through simplified regulatory procedures, time-bound approvals and stronger coordination among departments. He also highlighted industrial infrastructure, connectivity and a single-window mechanism for facilitating investments.

The proposed projects are expected to support Haryana’s industrial expansion and create employment opportunities, according to the state government. However, company-wise investment details, project implementation schedules and specific employment estimates were not provided in the statement.

During the visit, Saini also interacted with entrepreneurs from Haryana and representatives of Gujarat’s industrial sector at a Pravasi Milan Samaroh in Surat. Discussions covered opportunities for cooperation in sectors including auto components, machinery, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics and logistics.

The chief minister invited industrialists and investors to participate in the Happening Haryana Global Summit, scheduled for April 2027. The state government is seeking further investment and partnerships through its outreach to industry representatives.

The investment proposals mark the first day’s outcome of the Gujarat visit. Their eventual contribution to industrial capacity and employment will depend on the projects moving forward to implementation.
