Harish Rao shows generosity to BC hostel students, encourages innovation in science fair

Former Minister and MLA Tanneeru Harish Rao recently visited the BC Hostel in Tadkapalli village, Siddipet Urban constituency, to support students and showcase his commitment to their welfare. During the visit, he donated high-quality, corporate-standard beds worth ₹6 lakh to the hostel, fulfilling a promise he had made during a previous visit when he noticed the shortage of proper sleeping facilities.

Speaking at the event, Harish Rao emphasized that modern amenities like these beds can significantly improve students’ comfort, enabling them to focus better on their studies. The beds were formally handed over to the hostel warden and principal in the presence of local leaders and staff. The hostel community expressed heartfelt gratitude to Harish Rao for keeping his word and supporting the students.

In another event, Harish Rao participated in a district-level science fair at Siddipet Girls’ High School, which showcased 1,853 student projects this year. Highlighting the importance of innovation, he told students that the modern world runs on creativity and new ideas. “Every convenience around us - from electricity to telephones, and now artificial intelligence - originated from human innovation. There is no limit to what you can achieve if you innovate,” he said.

He encouraged students to see themselves as scientists and engineers, stressing that they should never underestimate their potential. The increasing number of projects each year is a positive sign, he noted, and hosting one of the state’s best science fairs in Siddipet brings recognition to the region.

Harish Rao also acknowledged the concerns of teachers, promising to raise issues such as pending DA (Dearness Allowance) payments, retirement dues, and delays in PRC (Pay Revision Commission) implementation in the upcoming assembly session. He urged students to stay away from phones and televisions, focus on studies, and bring pride to their parents, teachers, and Siddipet through their achievements.

The former minister also congratulated teachers and staff for organizing the successful science fair, calling it a boost to students’ enthusiasm and creativity.
