Gajuwaka MLA Sri Palla Srinivas Rao, in association with GVMC UCD Project Director Smt. P.M. Satyaveni, organized the Lok Kalyan Mela (PM SVANidhi 2.0) at the Zone-6 Zonal Office, aimed at empowering street vendors.

Addressing the participants, the MLA urged all street vendors to take full advantage of PM SVANidhi loans, digital transaction incentives, credit card facilities, FSSAI certifications, socio-economic surveys, and GST registration. He emphasized that these opportunities would help them strengthen their financial standing and improve their overall living standards.

Smt. Satyaveni provided detailed insights into the new loan slabs, credit card facilities, digital transaction incentives, and interest subvention benefits under NULM 2.0 (National Urban Livelihoods Mission) for regular PM SVANidhi beneficiaries. She highlighted that these measures are designed to financially empower street vendors and ensure their integration with multiple Central Government schemes.

The initiative aims to create a more sustainable and financially inclusive environment for unorganised workers like street vendors, enabling them to expand their businesses and participate actively in formal economic systems.

The Lok Kalyan Mela under PM SVANidhi 2.0 in Vizag stands as a crucial step towards bringing street vendors into the financial mainstream. With greater access to loans, digital incentives, and government-linked facilities, the initiative is expected to empower thousands of vendors, improve their livelihoods, and strengthen the city’s informal economy.
