Gujarat Titans Storm to Big Win as CSK Crash Out of IPL Playoff Race

Gujarat Titans delivered a commanding all-round performance to crush Chennai Super Kings by 89 runs in a crucial Indian Premier League clash on Thursday, strengthening their chances of securing a top-two finish while officially knocking CSK out of the playoff race.

The emphatic victory took Gujarat to 18 points from 14 matches , level with table-toppers Royal Challengers Bengaluru, though GT remain second because of an inferior Net Run Rate. Sudharsan anchored the innings beautifully with 84 off 53 balls , registering his fifth consecutive IPL fifty and continuing his remarkable season.

After the openers laid the foundation, Jos Buttler provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten 57 off 27 balls , smashing four sixes and five boundaries as GT surged past the 220-mark.

In reply, Chennai Super Kings suffered a disastrous start and never recovered. Mohammed Siraj struck with the very first ball of the innings and ripped through the top order during the powerplay. CSK collapsed to 51/4 inside six overs, effectively ending the contest early.

While Shivam Dube played a fearless cameo of 47 off 17 balls, Gujarat’s bowling attack remained relentless. Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada claimed three wickets each as CSK were bundled out for just 140 in 13.4 overs.
