Rockstar Games has intensified the hype around Grand Theft Auto VI with an extended gameplay showcase released on Netflix, giving fans a closer look at its sprawling open world, cinematic storytelling and highly detailed gameplay.

Set in the fictional Florida-inspired state of Leonida, with Vice City at its centre, the gameplay follows protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they navigate a criminal underworld filled with robberies, high-speed pursuits, businesses, social interactions and unpredictable encounters.

The showcase has drawn strong reactions from players, with many praising the game's visual quality, character animations, environmental detail and immersive world design. The scale of the map has also become a major talking point, with reports suggesting the playable area could be roughly three times larger than Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar's animation work has particularly attracted attention. Reports indicate that GTA VI features more than 600,000 NPC animations, potentially allowing pedestrians and other characters to behave in more varied and believable ways. An upgraded wanted system is also expected to make police pursuits more dynamic than in previous GTA titles.

However, the game's enormous scale has triggered a parallel conversation about storage requirements. A viral claim suggesting GTA VI could require more than 2TB of storage has not been credibly confirmed. More conservative estimates circulating among gaming communities place the potential installation size at around 150–200GB for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Fans have also spotted a location resembling the Bay Harbor Club condos associated with Dexter, prompting speculation about a possible Easter egg. Rockstar has yet to confirm the connection, but the resemblance has fuelled online theories and jokes about finding Dexter-style plastic-wrap references across Vice City.

With GTA VI scheduled for November 19, 2026, expectations are now reaching fever pitch as Rockstar prepares what could become one of the biggest gaming launches of the decade.
