Andhra Pradesh erupted in celebration as India’s women’s cricket star Sricharani, a key player in the team that won the Women’s ODI World Cup, returned home to a hero’s welcome.

Sricharani arrived at Gannavaram Airport on Friday morning, where she was greeted warmly by state ministers Anita, Savita, and Sandhyarani, along with Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President Kesineni Chinni, Secretary Sana Satish, and Shop Chairman Animini Ravinaidu.

From the airport, Sricharani travelled straight to Vijayawada, where she, accompanied by former Indian captain Mithali Raj, met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the CM’s camp office. The Chief Minister, along with Minister Lokesh, congratulated her on the historic win and lauded her contribution to Indian cricket.

During the meeting, Sricharani shared some of the most memorable moments from the World Cup victory. “Team India has truly shown its strength and set an example for women athletes across the nation,” said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, praising her achievements.

Before the meeting, the ACA had planned a grand victory rally from Gannavaram to Benz Circle, but it was cancelled due to her meeting with the CM. After the meeting, Sricharani visited the Mangalagiri Cricket Stadium.

Later in the evening, she is scheduled to reach her hometown Kadapa, where the District Cricket Association, with ACA’s support, has arranged a grand felicitation. A large rally and celebrations are planned as the people of Kadapa prepare to honour their hometown hero.

Representing Team India in the World Cup, Sricharani has made Andhra Pradesh proud. Her success marks not only a personal triumph but also a new chapter and renewed inspiration for women’s cricket in India.
