

Grand Walkathon Held in Hyderabad to Promote Census–2027 Awareness
A grand walkathon was held on Monday at Necklace Road in Hyderabad to create awareness about the Census–2027 process of the Government of India and to encourage citizens to actively participate in census activities.
Famous film actor Amala Akkineni attended the programme as the chief guest and added enthusiasm to the event.
The walkathon was conducted under the leadership of Telangana Census Director Bharathi Halikeri . GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan , Zonal Commissioner B. Santosh , along with several other officials, also participated. A large number of officials, volunteers, students, staff, and members of the public joined the event with great enthusiasm.
Speaking on the occasion, officials stressed that census data plays a crucial role in national planning and development policy formulation . They appealed to every citizen to ensure that their details are accurately recorded and to contribute to nation-building through their participation.
Participants carried placards and raised slogans promoting “Census–2027” , creating a lively atmosphere along Necklace Road. The event once again highlighted that public cooperation is essential for the successful conduct of the census .
