
Grand Centenary Celebrations of Andhra University, Top Dignitaries to Attend
Andhra University has reached a historic milestone, completing 100 years of academic excellence and knowledge dissemination. The institution is set to celebrate its centenary in a grand manner on Monday.
Several prominent personalities from across the country and abroad are expected to attend the celebrations . Chief guests include cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar , Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan , and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu . Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas will also be present.
Established in 1926 under the Madras University Act during British rule, Andhra University quickly gained recognition . It has been associated with eminent figures such as C. R. Rao and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, and has produced distinguished alumni across various fields.
As part of the celebrations, the Central Government will release a commemorative ₹100 coin and a special postage stamp. A coffee table book and heritage publications highlighting the university’s legacy will also be unveiled. The university will sign agreements with reputed institutions to enhance academic and research opportunities.
Distinguished alumni will be honoured for their contributions, and a special felicitation will be held for Sachin Tendulkar. Around 25,000 people are expected to attend the grand event , reflecting the university’s century-long journey and impact.
