Govts, organisations must tweak plans to sync with changing time says Andhra CM Chandrababu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged governments and organisations worldwide to adapt their plans in response to rapidly changing global conditions. His remarks were made in London during the London Global Convention on Corporate Governance and Sustainability 2025, organised by the Institute of Directors (India) and supported by the World Council for Corporate Governance (UK).

Mr. Naidu addressed an audience that included leaders from over 25 countries, such as the United Kingdom, India, the United States, Singapore, the UAE, Germany, France, South Africa, Japan, and Australia. Senior corporate executives, academicians, policymakers, and representatives of multinational firms, including Tata Group, Infosys, ITC, Reliance Industries, BP Plc, HSBC, PwC, and ICICI Bank, attended the event. Representatives from the House of Lords, UK Parliament were also present.

During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted that sweeping transformations in governance, technology, and business are shaping the global landscape. “As myriad changes are occurring in the world, there is a need for governments and organisations to change their plans accordingly,” Mr. Naidu was quoted as saying in an official press note. He emphasised that ethical leadership, innovation, and adaptability were essential for sustainable governance and development.

The 2025 convention, themed “Future-Proof Governance: Leading Through Change, Innovation, and Integrity,” included panel discussions on corporate governance, sustainability, ESG frameworks, artificial intelligence, and women’s leadership in business.

At the same event, N. Bhuvaneswari, Managing Director of Heritage Foods Ltd and Managing Trustee of the NTR Memorial Trust, was honoured with the IOD Distinguished Fellow Award 2025. The award was presented in recognition of her exceptional contributions to public service, business leadership, and social responsibility.

In addition, Heritage Foods Ltd received the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance 2025, recognising the company’s high standards of transparency, ethical management, and accountability. The Golden Peacock Awards were instituted in 1991 by the Institute of Directors (India) and are internationally recognised for promoting corporate excellence. Previous recipients of the corporate governance award include Tata Steel, Infosys, Reliance Industries, ITC, ONGC, Larsen & Toubro, and the State Bank of India.

The IOD Distinguished Fellow Award has previously been conferred on eminent leaders such as Ratan Tata, K.V. Kamath, Dr. E. Sreedharan, Azim Premji, Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, and Justice M.N. Venkatachaliah. The 2025 award marks Mrs. Bhuvaneswari’s first major formal individual recognition at the global level.

In a statement after the ceremony, CM Chandrababu expressed pride over his wife’s achievements, noting that she has embodied Telugu values and Indian cultural heritage through her leadership and compassion. “She is not just an entrepreneur and philanthropist but also a proud representative of Telugu culture, upholding the best of Indian and Telugu heritage through her values and dedication,” he said in a social media post.

Mrs. Bhuvaneswari, while accepting the awards, thanked the Institute of Directors and the jury for recognising the contributions of Heritage Foods Ltd and the NTR Memorial Trust. She dedicated both awards to her teams, highlighting their role in maintaining a culture of excellence, ethical governance, and community service.

Founded in 1992, Heritage Foods Ltd has become one of India’s leading private dairy enterprises, with operations in retail and renewable energy. Under Mrs. Bhuvaneswari’s leadership, the company has consistently been recognised for its corporate social responsibility and governance practices.

The London Global Convention, held annually for over two decades, serves as a platform for global dialogue on corporate governance, sustainability, and ethical leadership. The 2025 edition underscored India’s growing influence on international business standards and highlighted Telugu entrepreneurs and leaders making a global impact.

The dual honours for Mrs. Bhuvaneswari and Heritage Foods Ltd were widely viewed as a moment of pride for Andhra Pradesh and India, reflecting the importance of ethical leadership, corporate excellence, and inclusive governance on the international stage.
