Govt push to skill for global jobs

Over the past four years, the government has sent nearly 900 candidates abroad under various international training and fellowship programs. These initiatives are aimed at equipping Indian youth with global exposure, advanced technical skills, and specialized knowledge across diverse fields such as engineering, healthcare, information technology, and research. Officials have emphasized that the program is not only focused on sending candidates overseas but also on ensuring they return with expertise that can strengthen the nation’s workforce.

Recognizing the growing demand for a globally competitive workforce, the government has now announced plans to expand these opportunities further. More candidates from different states will be identified and trained to meet international standards. Alongside overseas placements, the government also intends to boost domestic skilling efforts through collaborations with industry leaders, universities, and training institutes.

By scaling up these programs, the aim is to bridge critical skill gaps, empower youth with cutting-edge knowledge, and make India a hub of highly trained professionals ready to serve both national and international markets. This step aligns with the broader vision of transforming India into a skill powerhouse by 2047, ensuring that young talent contributes effectively to economic growth and innovation.
