Govt Fast-Tracks Plan to Ease Madhapur–HITEC Traffic
The government has fast-tracked a comprehensive action plan to ease the persistent traffic congestion in and around Madhapur and HITEC City. On Saturday, Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner G. Sreejana , Water Board Managing Director Ashok Reddy , traffic police officials and other line department officers conducted a field inspection.
Officials reviewed the ongoing road-widening works along the main Madhapur–HITEC City stretch covering the Lemon Tree Hotel–Trident Hotel–Shilparamam corridor. As part of the project, utility line shifting works are progressing at a brisk pace. With nearly 1.3 lakh commuters using this route daily, the municipal authorities, Water Board, police, irrigation, electricity and TGIIC departments are coordinating closely to expedite the works.
In the Lake Park area, the construction of a 1,000 mm capacity sewer pipeline to prevent sewage from entering the lake has reached the final stage. Special measures have also been undertaken for the protection of Durgam Cheruvu . These include diverting sewage to 5 to 7 MLD treatment plants , constructing stormwater drains, and making it mandatory to utilise 100 per cent of treated water within the Raheja Mindspace premises.
Officials stated that these measures will not only help reduce traffic congestion but also contribute to environmental protection.
