Govt committed to strengthening education system: CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has emphasized that the government is committed to improving educational standards and enhancing the overall quality of the state’s education system. He highlighted efforts to strengthen all universities in the state and transform Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University into a modern knowledge hub.

In a significant move, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commonwealth of Learning to set up the Integrated Digital Education Academy (I.D.E.A). The agreement was exchanged in the presence of the Chief Minister by Professor Peter Scott, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning, and Professor Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. CM Revanth described this initiative as a major step toward key educational reforms in Telangana.

The MoU will enable Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University to evolve as a digital university. I.D.E.A will serve as a state-of-the-art digital hub, leveraging modern educational technology to enhance teaching and learning quality. Students will gain access to smart learning resources, virtual classrooms, and digital research opportunities. The academy aims to make world-class digital education easily accessible to Telangana students, bridging the gap between urban and rural learners and ensuring equal learning opportunities for all. CM Revanth emphasized that this initiative will equip future generations with the skills and experiences necessary for the modern world.

As part of the collaboration, the university launched seven Open Educational Resources and eight micro-credential courses on January 12, 2024, designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of students and educators.
