Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Offers Prayers at Tirumala Temple

In a visit marked by devotion and tradition, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla offered prayers at the revered Tirumala temple , seeking the blessings of Lord Venkateswara , widely worshipped as the “Kaliyuga Daivam.” His pilgrimage reflected both personal faith and the enduring cultural significance of one of India’s most sacred shrines.

Arriving at Tirumala in the early hours of Wednesday, the Governor was welcomed with full temple honours by officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and temple priests. The ceremonial reception at the Maha Dwaram showcased the rich traditions associated with dignitary visits to the shrine, blending spirituality with protocol.

The Governor proceeded to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara , offering prayers and fulfilling his vows in the sanctum. The temple, perched atop the Tirumala hills, continues to stand as a global spiritual hub , drawing millions of devotees every year, cutting across social and political boundaries.

Following the darshan, a formal programme was held at the Ranganayakula Mandapam , where TTD authorities felicitated the Governor with pattu vastralu , a customary gesture of respect. The atmosphere turned deeply spiritual as Vedic scholars chanted blessings , invoking divine grace. The Governor was later presented with teertha prasadam , symbolising sacred blessings from the deity.

Speaking after the visit, Shiv Pratap Shukla expressed profound spiritual satisfaction , describing the darshan as a deeply fulfilling experience. His visit was conducted under tight security arrangements , with police ensuring smooth movement across the Tirumala hill shrine without disrupting the flow of devotees.

Senior TTD officials , temple staff, and security personnel remained actively involved throughout the visit. Soon after completing the rituals, the Governor departed for Hyderabad , concluding a visit that seamlessly combined faith, tradition, and administrative protocol .
