Emphasising the transformative role of young administrators in public service, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Monday said the state’s future development will depend significantly on the commitment, integrity and vision of its upcoming civil servants.

The Governor made the remarks during an interaction with 44 Group-1 probationary Deputy Collectors currently undergoing training at the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRDI) . The officers, accompanied by the institute’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Shanti Kumari , met the Governor at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Welcoming the young officers, the Governor congratulated them on entering one of the most responsible arms of public administration and extended his best wishes for their careers. He interacted personally with several probationers and appreciated their enthusiasm towards public service and citizen welfare.

Addressing the gathering, Shiv Pratap Shukla said the officers would soon assume leadership responsibilities at the grassroots level , where their decisions and administrative approach would directly affect people’s lives. He urged them to treat governance not merely as a profession, but as a larger responsibility towards society and the nation.

The Governor stressed that administrative officers must remain accessible, compassionate and transparent while delivering services to the public. He observed that district-level officials often become the first point of contact for citizens during emergencies and welfare-related concerns, making accountability and sensitivity essential qualities in governance.

Highlighting the importance of ethical administration and innovative thinking, the Governor said young officers bring fresh perspectives that can strengthen institutions and improve governance standards. He expressed confidence that the commitment and new ideas of the probationary officers would contribute significantly to good governance and Telangana’s overall development .

The interaction also reflected the state’s broader emphasis on preparing a new generation of officers capable of handling evolving administrative challenges, including welfare delivery, rural development, digital governance and disaster management.

Senior officials of MCRHRDI were also present during the programme.
