Governor calls for discipline through NCC, excellence in education

Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General K T Parnaik (Retd.) has emphasized the need to expand the National Cadet Corps (NCC) network and strengthen the quality framework governing private educational institutions in the state.

During a meeting at Raj Bhavan with Colonel Samudra Vijay Sarma, Commanding Officer of the 1st Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion, the Governor called for extending NCC activities to every district and institution. He said the NCC plays a vital role in instilling discipline, unity, leadership, patriotism, and the spirit of “Nation First” among youth.

Lt. Gen. Parnaik stressed that cadets from Arunachal Pradesh should receive regular training, proper mentorship, and opportunities to qualify for the ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ certificate examinations. He urged the battalion to inspire cadets to aim for participation in the Republic Day Parade, one of the highest honors for an NCC member—and to promote sports and adventure activities. Expanding NCC units across the state, he added, would help nurture a generation of disciplined and service-oriented citizens.

In a separate meeting, the Governor also met Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission (APPEIRC) Chairman Tsering Naksang, who submitted the Commission’s annual report for 2024–25. The Governor urged the Commission to ensure that all private institutions adhere to quality standards through robust accreditation, inspections, and performance audits.

He emphasized aligning educational outcomes with national development goals under Viksit Bharat@2047, with a focus on skill-based learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. The Governor also highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government to bridge the education–employability gap.
