'Goodachari 2' First Review: Rahul Ravindran Says Adivi Sesh Has Upped His Game

Adivi Sesh’s 'Goodachari' is regarded as one of the finest spy thrillers in Telugu cinema, and the film played a major role in taking his career to the next level. Now, the actor is returning as Agent Gopi with 'Goodachari 2', which is being made on a much bigger scale with a reported budget of over Rs. 100 crore.

Interestingly, the film has already received an early reaction even though the shoot is yet to be completed. Popular filmmaker and actor Rahul Ravindran watched footage from the film and shared his thoughts on his Letterboxd profile.

Rahul revealed that he watched 'Goodachari 2' with around 70% of the shoot completed, making this one of the earliest stages at which he has seen an Adivi Sesh film in the editing process.

His reaction was highly enthusiastic. Rahul wrote, “Holy smoking dragon flame fireballs!” He went on to praise the film’s visuals, action sequences, plot and twists, predicting that the movie could raise the bar for Indian spy thrillers.

According to Rahul, 'Goodachari 2' is going to “explode in theatres” when it releases. He also described the film as his most favourite Sesh film yet and praised the actor for taking his performance to another level.

Rahul further called Adivi Sesh the best on-screen Indian spy yet, underlining his confidence in the actor’s portrayal of Agent Gopi. He also singled out Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi, who are playing key roles in the sequel.

The sequel is being mounted on a significantly larger scale than its predecessor, with the makers aiming for a pan-Indian spy thriller with international-level action and production values. The combination of Adivi Sesh, Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi has already generated considerable interest among moviegoers.

However, Rahul Ravindran’s comments should be viewed as an early industry reaction, rather than a final review, since a substantial portion of the film is still to be shot and the final edit is yet to be completed.

Bollywood spy thriller 'Dhurandhar' has also set a high benchmark for the genre in India. It remains to be seen whether 'Goodachari 2' can live up to or even surpass that standard when it eventually arrives in theatres.
