Golden Waves: Indian Women Clinch Gold, Men Secure Silver in Beach Kabaddi at Asian Games

At the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China , held from 22 to 30 April 2026 , India delivered a standout performance in beach kabaddi, finishing the campaign with a gold and a silver medal that lit up the national medal tally.

The Indian women’s team produced a dominant run throughout the tournament. They topped their group with authority, carried that momentum into the knockout stage by defeating Bangladesh in the semifinals, and then delivered a commanding performance against Sri Lanka in the final to secure the gold medal.
