Gold theft cracked within hours, ₹60 lakh worth gold recovered, three arrested

In an impressive show of efficiency, Kakinada district police solved a major gold theft case within just 12 to 18 hours, recovering 624 grams of gold ornaments worth around ₹60 lakh and arresting three suspects.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when Amburi Muni Krishna, a resident of Nellore district, was traveling from Vizianagaram to Tirupati on a private bus. During a food break near a dhaba at Gollaprolu in Gollaprolu mandal, he left his bag containing gold ornaments inside the bus. When he returned after his meal, the bag was missing. He immediately filed a complaint with the local police.

Acting swiftly, the Kakinada police formed three special teams and began investigating the case using CCTV footage, technical evidence, and local intelligence. Within hours, they traced and arrested three accused - T. Narasimha, P. Teja, and Mahender - all known offenders from Vizianagaram district. The entire stolen gold, including chains, bangles, rings, and other ornaments, was recovered and returned to the rightful owner.

Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, commended the Kakinada police team for their prompt and professional investigation. “The officers’ dedication and quick response have strengthened public confidence in the police force,” he said.

A senior police official added, “Our team worked tirelessly day and night, combining modern technology with traditional investigation methods. Protecting citizens’ property is our foremost duty, and this operation is an example of that commitment.”

Meanwhile, the operation has drawn wide praise on social media, with locals lauding the police for their swift action and effective coordination.
