Goa Set for Early Start to 2026-27 Tourism Season With First Charter Flight

Goa is set to welcome the first chartered flight of the 2026–27 international tourist season on September 30, signalling an early start to preparations for the state’s peak tourism period, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Saturday.

Sawant said the arrival of the first charter flight would mark the beginning of what the state expects to be an encouraging international tourism season. The government is preparing to welcome visitors from different parts of the world as Goa gets ready for increased tourist activity.

“Goa is gearing up for an encouraging start to the international tourism season, with the first charter flight expected as early as 30th September,” Sawant said in a post on X.

The Chief Minister said the state was looking forward to welcoming international visitors and having a vibrant tourism season that would benefit the hospitality sector, local businesses and communities across Goa.

The first chartered flight is scheduled to arrive just ahead of the state’s official tourist season, which traditionally begins in October and continues until May.

Charter flights form an important component of Goa’s international tourism movement, bringing visitors directly to the coastal state during the peak season. Their arrival also supports activity across hotels, resorts, restaurants, transport services, tour operators and other businesses that depend heavily on tourism.

The early charter flight is expected to provide a positive opening to the upcoming season, with stakeholders preparing for the arrival of international tourists.

Goa, known for its beaches, heritage attractions, cultural experiences and hospitality infrastructure, attracts visitors from several countries during the winter tourism period.
