
Global leaders and tech CEOs gather in Delhi for 5 days AI impact summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam , marking the start of the five-day global conference being held from February 16 to 20 .
The Summit, themed “ Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya Welfare for All, Happiness for All ”, brings together world leaders, policymakers, technology executives and researchers to promote the responsible and inclusive use of Artificial Intelligence.
Among the prominent international participants on the opening day were Emmanuel Macron , Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva , and António Guterres , along with senior delegations from more than 40 countries. Leading figures from the global technology industry, including Sundar Pichai and Sam Altman , also attended the inaugural sessions.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the expanding influence of AI in healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and business. He said the Summit would serve as a platform to strengthen global cooperation on innovation while ensuring ethical and responsible deployment of emerging technologies.
The opening day featured keynote speeches, panel discussions on AI governance and workforce transformation, and the launch of the AI Impact Expo, where startups, research institutions and global companies showcased AI-driven solutions and applications.
Discussions during the first day also included bilateral meetings among participating nations on data governance and future technology partnerships.
The Summit is expected to result in policy recommendations on responsible AI , enhanced international collaboration , and new partnerships between governments and technology firms , aimed at expanding AI adoption for public welfare and sustainable economic growth.
