GHMC Special Sanitation Drive Till February 28

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a massive sanitation initiative aimed at providing residents with a cleaner and healthier environment. Officials announced that a “Special Sanitation Drive” will run across the city from February 3 to 28 , with daily sanitation activities across all 300 divisions.

The drive will focus on removing accumulated old waste, municipal solid waste, construction debris, tree waste, and engineering-related debris. Clean-up operations will be conducted in phases at key public areas, including flyovers, foot overbridges, roadside dividers, central medians, sidewalks, parks, lakes, drains, and areas surrounding electrical transformers and poles.

Dedicated teams will thoroughly clean identified waste-prone areas. Special vehicles will be deployed for the removal of construction and demolition waste. Garbage-prone vulnerable points across the city will be targeted to ensure complete removal of accumulated waste.

In addition to sanitation activities, GHMC will conduct awareness campaigns in collaboration with citizens, schools, and resident welfare associations. These initiatives will focus on e-waste collection, recycling at RRR centers , proper waste disposal, and discouraging public urination, with strict spot fines for violations.

Officials said the drive aims not only to clean the city but also to instill civic responsibility and promote sustainable sanitation practices among residents.
