The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has successfully completed the fifth day of its mega sanitation drive aimed at providing citizens with a cleaner and healthier environment. The campaign is ongoing across all 300 wards of the city, with senior GHMC officials closely monitoring the progress.

On the fifth day, the focus was on crowded public spaces where people frequently gather. Areas such as Mehdipatnam, Karwan Road, and Moin Bagh received special attention. Teams cleaned footpaths, parks, and streets, removing accumulated trash, dust, and debris to ensure safer and more hygienic surroundings for pedestrians. A key objective of the drive is to discourage littering and make public spaces more convenient and clean for residents.

GHMC staff and volunteers are working together in a coordinated effort to promote environmental awareness across the city. The campaign emphasizes that citizen participation is crucial - using designated dustbins, segregating waste, and keeping neighborhoods clean are essential to achieving the drive’s full impact.

Officials said the sanitation drive will continue until the city achieves a safe, clean, and green environment. They called on Hyderabad residents to actively support the initiative, noting that with public cooperation, the city can become even cleaner, healthier, and greener.
