GHMC issues notice to Allu Arjun’s family over illegal project

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued a show-cause notice to producer Allu Aravind and his family over alleged illegal construction at the Allu Business Park in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The move comes after a routine inspection revealed deviations from the approved building plan, raising questions about compliance with municipal regulations.

The Allu Business Park, inaugurated in November 2023 to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of legendary actor Allu Ramalingaiah, houses offices for the family’s enterprises, including Geetha Arts and Allu Arts. While the approved plan allowed for two basements plus ground and four upper floors (G+4), GHMC officials reportedly identified additional construction on the fourth floor that had not received prior approval.

The show-cause notice demands an explanation from the Allu family and warns that failure to comply could result in demolition of the unauthorized portions. Officials emphasized that this action is part of broader efforts to curb illegal constructions in Hyderabad, in line with the Telangana High Court’s directives to take swift action against building violations, even if show-cause notices are pending.

The development has drawn attention not just because of the high-profile nature of the Allu family but also because it highlights the increasing enforcement measures by GHMC to ensure adherence to sanctioned building plans. The family now has to respond within the stipulated period or face possible legal and administrative action.
