Pakistan’s military offensive against the Afghan Taliban continues unabated, with security forces reporting significant gains in the ongoing ‘Operation Ghazab Lil Haq’ , launched last Thursday in response to attacks on 53 locations along the 2,600 km Pakistan-Afghanistan border .

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that 415 Taliban operatives have been killed and more than 580 injured so far. According to Tarar, 182 Afghan checkposts have been destroyed and 31 captured by Pakistani forces. In addition, 185 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns were destroyed, while 46 locations across Afghanistan were effectively targeted through airstrikes .

Citing state-run Pakistan Television (PTV), security sources reported that Pakistani forces also destroyed an ammunition depot in Khost , striking both Fitna al-Khawarij and Afghan Taliban elements , forcing them into a complete retreat on multiple fronts . Afghan sources claim the airstrikes expanded to Bagram air base , though Pakistan has not officially confirmed this.

Federal Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry dismissed social media claims that the operation had ended, emphasizing that operations continue with full intensity and strategic discretion . The temporary suspension of PAF and drone footage sharing is meant to safeguard national security rather than signal a halt in operations.

Highlighting the role of women in the offensive, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif noted that women fighter pilots of the Pakistan Air Force led successful airstrikes on Kabul and Kandahar , describing it as a “Revenge of Power” against Taliban attacks on girls’ schools in Pakistan.

Despite diplomatic efforts by Gulf countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia , tensions remain high, with Pakistan dismantling Taliban infrastructure used in cross-border attacks. Security sources indicate there is no end in sight , as the operation aims to neutralize Taliban elements responsible for recent aggressions along the border.
