Ganesh Immersion to Be Held Peacefully Across Telangana: Ponnam

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said all arrangements have been completed across Telangana for the Ganesh immersion celebrations, and appealed to devotees, the public and organisers of Ganesh mandaps to conduct the festivities peacefully and with devotion. He also urged everyone to cooperate with the authorities to ensure that law and order is maintained throughout the immersion process.

The Minister said the state government had begun preparations well before the commencement of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Review meetings were held in Hyderabad with the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, representatives of prominent Ganesh mandaps and officials to assess the requirements for the festivities. Similar meetings were conducted with officials in all districts to coordinate arrangements for the arrival of idols, management of mandaps and the immersion process.

In Hyderabad, the government has extended full support to the collective immersion programme organised by the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, Prabhakar said. Necessary facilities have been arranged to ensure that devotees do not face difficulties during the celebrations. Officials have also been instructed to coordinate closely with organisers and take measures to ensure the smooth movement of people and immersion vehicles.

Prabhakar also highlighted the government’s decision to provide free electricity to Ganesh mandaps. He said previous governments had made several assurances and framed regulations regarding the issue, but had not provided free power to the mandaps. Under the Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the commitment was implemented, and Ganesh mandaps have been receiving free electricity for the past three years, he said.

With immersion celebrations taking place across the state, the Minister appealed to devotees, organisers and the public to maintain coordination and cooperate with officials. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the celebrations remain peaceful and do not cause inconvenience or disruption.

Prabhakar also extended his wishes to the people on the occasion, expressing hope that Telangana would continue to progress with the blessings of Lord Ganesha. He prayed for abundant rainfall, good agricultural output and prosperity for farmers. He also wished for protection from natural calamities and for the people of the state to remain safe, healthy and prosperous.
