Galla Madhavi Slams Official Negligence Over Damaged Roads and Overloaded Trucks
Expressing concern over the rapid damage to newly laid roads in the Guntur West constituency, MLA Galla Madhavi criticised officials for failing to control overloaded sand lorries operating within the city.
During a late-night inspection near Pattabhipuram Bridge on Tuesday, the MLA spotted several sand trucks carrying loads exceeding 70 tonnes while leaking water onto the roads. She said the movement of such vehicles was severely damaging road infrastructure and creating serious safety risks for commuters.
Madhavi, who was returning after paying condolences to the family of TDP leader Bellamkonda Suresh, observed that heavy vehicles had created large potholes, making travel difficult and increasing the danger of accidents , especially during nighttime.
She also warned that water leaking from the lorries was turning roads slippery and posing a threat to two-wheeler riders .
The MLA alleged that officials had failed to enforce earlier directions despite repeated review meetings on regulating heavy vehicles. Calling the unchecked movement of overloaded trucks an administrative failure , she directed authorities to take immediate action and impose strict controls on such vehicles.
