Future defenders of India: 742 clear NDA and Naval Academy exams

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2025. A total of 742 candidates have successfully qualified for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy for the 156th Course , and the Naval Academy for the 118th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

These candidates earned their place through a rigorous selection process that began with the written examination conducted on 14th September 2025 , followed by comprehensive interviews at the Services Selection Board (SSB), under the Ministry of Defence. The results represent the culmination of months of preparation and assessment, highlighting the dedication and determination of India’s future military officers.

It is important to note that the results do not yet account for the medical examination , and the candidature of all selected candidates remains provisional , pending submission of necessary certificates, including proof of date of birth and educational qualifications. Candidates are required to submit these documents directly to the Additional Directorate General of Recruiting, Adjutant General’s Branch, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army) in New Delhi.

For those selected, the next step involves checking course commencement details on the official websites of the Army, Navy, and Air Force: joinindianarmy.nic.in , joinindiannavy.gov.in , and careerindianairforce.cdac.in . Marks of the candidates will be made available online 15 days from the date of result declaration .

UPSC has also provided multiple contact points for assistance, including helplines for general queries as well as specific SSB/Interview-related concerns. The final list of qualified candidates is also available on the UPSC website .

This milestone marks a significant step for India’s aspiring defence officers, as these young men and women prepare to embark on a journey of rigorous training and service to the nation. With the selection process complete, attention now turns to their future roles in strengthening India’s defence capabilities across land, sea, and air.
