Funds under ‘Rythu Bharosa’ to be Released from March 22
The Telangana government has announced good news for farmers in the state. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said that the release of funds under the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ investment support scheme will begin from March 22 . He made this key announcement during the Telugu New Year ‘Ugadi’ celebrations organised by the state government.
The government believes that the scheme will play a crucial role in meeting the investment needs of farmers . Earlier, on March 15 , the government had announced that ₹9,000 crore would be credited to farmers’ bank accounts. The Chief Minister stated that ₹18,000 crore has been disbursed under ‘Rythu Bharosa’ over the past two years. He added that assistance of ₹12,000 per acre annually is being provided.
He also said that issues related to agricultural lands purchased under the ‘Sada Bainama’ system will soon be resolved by the Revenue Department. This is expected to provide clarity on land ownership rights for farmers. Reiterating the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, the Chief Minister said that the farm loan waiver up to ₹2 lakh has been completed, benefiting over 2.5 million families .
The Chief Minister noted that although the state has made progress in the IT and industrial sectors , around 70 per cent of the population still depends on agriculture. Citing data released by the central government, he said it is a matter of pride that the debt burden of farmers in Telangana is among the lowest in the country.
