From Sankranti, all government services in Andhra Pradesh to go fully online: CM
In a move aimed at modernizing governance, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed that all government services across the state be made fully accessible online starting this Sankranti.
During a review meeting of the Real-Time Governance System (RTGS) on Tuesday, the Chief Minister emphasized that digital services will enhance transparency and improve public satisfaction with government operations. Departments that currently provide services offline have been instructed to immediately transition their processes online.
To ensure citizens can access services without visiting government offices, the CM has mandated the use of the “Manamitra WhatsApp Governance” platform. He also called for widespread awareness campaigns to inform the public about this digital service.
Once registration is complete, documents will be delivered directly to citizens’ homes via courier, minimizing the need for physical visits. The CM further instructed authorities to prioritize cleanliness at RTC bus stands, especially in toilets, to ensure better facilities for travelers and prevent the spread of diseases.
Highlighting the growing role of drones, the Chief Minister asked officials to prepare a master plan to expand drone services. In agriculture, drones could help reduce pesticide usage, and farmers will be guided on effective technological applications.
The CM also urged officials to identify successful programs in certain districts and replicate them across the state. Key officials, including the Government Secretary Vijayanand, participated in the review meeting.
“Manamitra WhatsApp Governance” is a digital initiative that brings government services closer to citizens. Through this platform, people can register complaints, request services, and track their progress directly via WhatsApp. Services available include ration, electricity, municipal services, police complaints, healthcare, civic services, and welfare scheme information.
The system allows real-time tracking of requests, saving time and money, reducing corruption, and increasing transparency. Overall, the platform represents a major step toward providing faster, simpler, and smarter digital governance for Andhra Pradesh residents.
